Lucy Hill (Renee Zellweger) is an ambitious, up and coming executive living in Miami. She loves her shoes, she loves her cars and she loves climbing the corporate ladder. Purchase at your own risk. March 13, 2010 Jane E. Patterson (New Hampshire) I love this movie, so I was very dissapointed to have found flaws in the disk half-way through the movie. I will attempt to get satisfaction from the seller, but caution anyone purchasing from this vendor.
Enjoyable laid back romantic comedy March 11, 2010 Kevin Hunter (Los Angeles, CA) This is a sure fired sleeper. Lovely romantic comedy, one that's a little different by straying from the Hollywood norm. The actors here churn out some really fine performances, by creating an array of rich, wonderful characters that you can't help but pay attention to. Some of the most poignant romantic scenes don't occur at the start or the end, but rather a good chunk in the middle where you would think their would be a lull. Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr. share a natural chemistry that is genuine. The film also offers a positive view of a small conservative town for a change, instead of making fun of it, showing us all the good things about it. Family, friendship and unity.

This is a good funny movie but also touching at times. Very fun movie to watch, good story. You will nt be sorry you bought this one.
Lisa from MN March 2, 2010 LISA Says (MN United States) I normally love romantic comedies, I take them for what they are, but not when they insult people who live in certain areas. In general, Minnesotans' don't talk like this. There might be a few in Sunburg, MN (less then 10 and I think I'm being generous). This movie made us look like a bunch of rejects from Norway, I was very insulted to say the least. Sadly it wasn't even made in Minnesota, it was made in Canada where they say "Aay?" alot. Since I moved out to western MN, I have picked up saying "Heh?" (the Canadian Aay habit), but I don't say "Ya know? or "You betcha!" I guess you could say this is a sore spot for me, I just find it so annoying, wasn't Fargo enough? This movie wasn't even funny enough to get passed this inaccurate dialect.
A Classic! February 27, 2010 A. Huitema I loved this movie. It wasn't great art, but it was lots of fun. It had skillful characterization and casting, comedy and pathos. I also really enjoyed the northern setting, which reminded me of the northern setting in "Grumpy Old Men". Zellweger made a convincing nemesis to Connick's nice guy character, and it was delightful when she came a cropper. The sights of an arrogant Zellweger being stunned by the northern cold, falling on her face in the snow and pitching backward off a porch gave me some good laughs. I also particularly enjoyed an elderly woman's vivid depiction of tinnitus, a running gag about one character's continuous efforts to steal a tapioca pud recipe and Connick's frantic upending of Zellweger in an attempt to divest her of overalls so that she could use the outdoor "facilities". The latter activity culminated in Connick being shot in the posterior when Zellweger unsuccessfully tried to lean her shotgun against a tree. The comedy was expertly interspersed with pathos (the struggle to retain factory jobs for the locals, among other things), and the interplay of pathos and comedy provided just the right pacing to drive the story. So, if you want a movie that will make you laugh, will make you care about the characters and will not leave you hanging with an unresolved ending, this is a good candidate. I'm going to shelve it with the old reliables so I can watch it the next time I have a chinless day.
