1 out of 5 stars Waste of time   June 26, 2009

I usually love anything with Pacino...not this one. Just bad. A real waste of his talent as well as the talents of Sobieski & Stephen Moyer.

3 out of 5 stars Good suspense, but very unrealistic   June 24, 2009
Nanookh (Caribbean)
I watched this movie and was sitting on the edge of my chair till the end. For suspense, the movie can have 5 stars. What a pity that these are so many unlikely things happening in it. A forensic shrink running around with a gun in a city and nobody stops him? A taxi driver that agrees to sit on his own car's backseat and let a clearly overreacting person take the steering wheel? No way! Not for $100, not for $500!! I would rate this movie 5 stars if the situations would be more realistic.

3 out of 5 stars Pacino on the move...   June 23, 2009
Robert Fabano Ll (Florida US)
The second the credits appear on screen, and because of the style of the music itself, you know this is going to be a thriller and a vehicle for Pacino. The best thing about an Al Pacino film is the fact that given the proper script, Pacino can turn just cookies, into milk and cookies; a line he actually uses early in the film. Pacino, playing a forensic psychologist with a huge hair-do and a rugged goatee, actually makes the script into a believable who-dunnit. He also manages to do something alot of actors his age have trouble with; make his younger supporting players seem to respect and admire him throughout the film. This is so because he is playing a character the same age as his with a deep sense of morality. Also, every other scene is Pacino either running, driving or protecting one of his co-stars. But Pacino grinds his oddly written character into the dirt and his gritty performance colors the bland script. The locations are well-used, and the direction is fast-paced, but do we need to see Al Pacino, racing around Seattle, trying to solve a murder as well as trying to prevent his own demise? Why not? Hey, it's Pacino, no punches pulled here. Beautiful female cast, including Leelee Sobieski, Amy Brenneman and Alicia Witt give nice support and help turn this crime flick into a first-class crime thirller. Good film made better by Pacino!

1 out of 5 stars Not really a comedy...   June 8, 2009
Nick Estes (Madison, WI.)
...it's actually a stinker. The satiric elements even lack wit. I found myself laughing at many of the ensuing situations and poorly written dialog. My laughs, however, were not pleasurable. They were expressions of shock at how poorly managed this film is. The cinematography is often uninspired, which certainly doesn't help. I wish I could say this was supposed to be a humorous film, such as Hollywood Homicide, but it ranks in all-time inanity along with the remake of The Wicker Man helmed by Neil LaBute. The charismatic Al Pacino does hold his own coupled with all the statuesque women, however.

5 out of 5 stars ANOTHER PACINO GREAT   May 26, 2009
L. D. Lee (Elkton, MD United States)
Have to stop reading the movie Critics reviews. This movie was rated as a horrible movie by the critics. I listened to that and avoided it since the day it was released. But I finally rented it. It was a fantastic movie, suspension, action packed, great cast. This movie keeps you watching right till the end.
Don't go by the Movie Critics. They Madea goes to jail a D+ and it should have gotten an F.
