If you have a higher watt microwave, use this egg cooker at your own risk! It takes experimentation to figure out the right amount of time for your particular microwave, which may not be a big deal. But the unit has a couple of serious functional problems.
The lid has a metallic inner shell and plastic outer shell with a small airspace in between. There is a vent hole at the very top through both shells. Steam gets trapped in between the shells during cooking, so when you remove the lid and set it down, it rolls to its top and hot water drips out. It's impossible to completely shake the water out through the vent hole and the moisture trapped inside takes a long time to dry.
The lid also popped off the cooker during cooking several times, usually just becoming dislodged a little to one side, but completely off a couple of times. I don't know how that much pressure builds up inside but I suspect water droplets might plug the vent hole. If you don't notice the lid askance and replace it correctly then you could hear a loud "bang" and find egg particles cooked all over the interior of your microwave.
Perhaps the issue is that our microwave is 1200w, but I'd be afraid to try it in a 1000w microwave too. We tried cooking the eggs for longer time at lower power but they came out rubbery.
Even if it did perform reliably, I would still wish it held more than 4 eggs - not family friendly.

This was one of the best items I have bought for myself in a long time. It is great for when you want hard boiled eggs and need them in a hurry. I takes half to the time if not more to cook the eggs. I also like making soft boiled eggs for my breakfast in the morning. I put the eggs in the egg cooker, put it in the microwave, set it for 5 minutes and go about my business and in 5 minutes I have my soft boiled eggs. Don't have to wait for water to boil. I would recommend to anyone.

This is the neatest gadget yet! In twelve minutes I have perfectly hard-boiled eggs with no watching, waiting, etc. I love it and will be gifting them this holiday season!

It does exactly what you want it to do... it hard boils your eggs in the microwave. Just set it (for me, it's 10 min) and come back later and it's ready.
No muss, no fuss. That's what it does, and it does it well.
