Product Description This OtterBox for iPhone 3G Defender Series was designed to accommodate the 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G models ONLY. Included with the case is a ClipStand holster for carrying AND viewing convenience! Please note: This case does NOT work with the first generation iPhone OR the iPod Touch. The OtterBox for iPhone 3G Defender Series follows in the Defender Series tradition by offering stylish and sophisticated protection. First, a thin, clear membrane covers your Touch Screen to help prevent scratches and dings. Second is a hard, strong Polycarbonate skeleton that surrounds your device. Wrapped around all of this is a Silicone skin that absorbs bump and shock, protecting against the accidental drop. Included with the case is a ClipStand holster. By purchasing an OtterBox for iPhone 3G Defender Series Pink "Strength" case, 10% of the purchase price will be donated to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade to support access to care and finding a cure for breast cancer, with a focus on the medically underserved.

Excellent Case March 15, 2010 Todd E. Fordahl I purchased two iphones, and two of these cases, one for me and one for my wife. (Mine's not pink.) Within 24 hours of installing the case on my phone, I dropped it and found that the only damage was a dirt mark that wiped off the case. As fragile as these phones are, I'm certain there would've been more damage if it weren't for the case. The only negative remark I have is that the plastic holster with the belt clip does not secure the phone very well. My phone has fallen out of the belt clip two additional times, but the excellent case has spared the phone any damage. Well worth the money, highly recommended.
Otterbox March 14, 2010 Don Baker Accidently dropped iPhone into water during first week of being in Otterbox and it was protected from getting wet. In my opinion, Otterbox has paid for itself already!
Great Protection March 14, 2010 Clifton L. Eoff (Rogers AR) It has saved me from several bumps and scratches in just a short time. If I had not had it on I could have even damaged it. Only problem I have had is the clip. If you are not watching the phone can pop out if you bump it getting in and out of chairs or your car. And the Spring Clip can break if you hit it too hard.
great product March 14, 2010 Patricia H. Stafford (Marietta, GA) Just what I wanted and expected. Very sturdy. It protects my phone very well.
Can't use iPhone dock March 13, 2010 James Bradford (Oklahoma) The Otterbox Defender is definetely on the Ft. Knox end of iPhone cases. I purchased mine in February 2010 and have had it about one month. I haven't put it through much of a stress test yet but it seems to be very protective. It has rubber covers over all the buttons and connectors which many other cases do not. The screen cover doesn't seem to impede the response to finger touch but it definetely has the "oil slick" effect mentioned in other reviews. As you touch the case the pattern of the oil slick moves with your finger. Some people may find this entertaining, others extremely annoying. I haven't tried the idea of putting a seperate screen protector on the iPhone before putting it in the Otterbox case. How many layers of protection can you need?
I like to use a belt clip or holster for my cell phone (yes I know it makes me look like a nerd). It hasn't happened to me yet, but I wonder about the phone accidentally coming out of the belt holder. The phone audibly 'clicks' into the belt clip when attachment points on the case fit into the belt holder. This makes for an very accessible way to get the phone with one hand but if the phone gets caught on something it might come out of the belt holder by accident. Also, the phone is pretty easy to put in the holder except that any clothing that gets in the way is a problem. For example. a shirt or any coat must be very carefully gotten out of the way before putting the phone in the belt clip or it will prevent the phone from clipping in, or get trapped between the phone and belt clip. If you wear your shirts tucked in, this would be less of a problem.
The Defender also eliminates the possibility of using an iPhone dock/cradle as the bottom of the phone is covered by the case. Removing the case is too difficult to do every day just to use the cradle. Also I have an FM transmitter I sometimes use when driving and the plug on it that goes into the phone is big enough that the Defender blocks it.
